Now Playing Review – Tangled

Most little girls who are not outside playing in the dirt with the boys are busy fantasizing about growing up to be a princess, so the next logical step in that train of thought when Disney classics mix in is which Disney princess they would like to be.  Some prefer a pumpkin carriage to a ball to dance the night away with a prince, while others may lean towards flying across the sky on a magic carpet.  With the release of Tangled, it looks like there are going to be more girls growing their hair long, waiting for the day for a prince to come along and ask her to let it down for him.

Other than the classic line: “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair” I’m sure I am not alone in saying that I really couldn’t elaborate on the story of this long haired girl locked away in a tower.  As a matter of fact, I actually had to google it just to see what it was all about, and turns out it’s a Grimm one from time to time (oh ho ho play on words…).  Working the good ol’ Disney magic, the story of Rapunzel is changed up to form a happier, exciting adventure story.  Plus, we have a new male lead.  Everyone knows the damsel being saved by a Prince is so 2D. TV Recap and Ramblings: Happy Town – “I Came to Haplin for the Waters”

SPOILERS TO FOLLOW:

The second episode of Happy Town throws out a whole new set of questions, as well as reiterating some questions from the first episode.  However, for all the questions floating around we have already been provided the answer to one of the major questions of the first episode, thankfully forgetting to drag it out for a larger part of the season (I will now refrain from saying the word “question” again).  I mean, one mystery man is enough for us to deal with, so now we can watch the drama revolving about the revelation of the murderer’s identity while still trying to figure out who the Magic Man is.

This episode continues with the ending of the premiere, following Tommy arriving at the hospital with the Sheriff, who is minus his left hand.  However, you don’t need that appendage to continue to spew out some crazy lines, continuing the question of what his connection is to Chloe as he continues to talk about her/to her in his mumblings of gibberish (I’m going with dad). Recap and Ramblings: Happy Town Series Premiere – “In this Home on Ice”

The premiere of Happy Town starts the series off with a bang… Well, not really a bang.  There was a gun involved, but it didn’t go off…  Okay, let’s start this again:

The premiere of Happy Town starts the series off on a really interesting foot, and though this mystery show didn’t lean as far towards the horror genre as I was hoping it would, hopefully it is going to head that way in the future considering we’ve got ourselves a murderer to find and the memory of a serial kidnapper still haunting the town.

Because this is an unraveling mystery, a whole bunch of questions were presented with this first episode.  I figured because my memory is that of a goldfish when it comes to these things (don’t even get me started on Lost), I am going to take note of anything and everything that may come into play later on.  If you couldn’t give an insignificant penny about these things then skip the list.
