In this week of rentals I found myself disappointed with many of this years “better” comedies, where two other films ending up where I expected them to be. Suggestion Box (Sept. 6 – 12)
This week’s Suggestion Box contains trailers for the movies Hereafter and Priest, my brief writeup for some of the premiered shows this fall, and then videos for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and Portal 2 in games.
Movies:
Hereafter Trailer - The newest film paring Clint Eastwood as director and Matt Damon has Damon cast as a genuine psychic who has trouble living with his ability connected to the afterlife, interweaving stories of those who come into contact with him, bringing questions of their own about what lies ahead due to personal experiences. Not to put too much into the trailer, but the brief clips alone of the acting shows a glimmer of the performances ahead, which will hopefully live up to what comes in the film.

The plot thickens! Okay, I understand that “the plot thickens” is going to apply to every episode, but I needed to get it out of my system now, especially because of how the episode ended. I mean, I understand that Echo does the whole “shoulder to the wheel” gesture to show that her doll state is subconsciously remembering things from past engagements, but I am all about the details, and that saying doesn’t go with the conversation it follows. Plus it is just funny because it looks like she is swatting a fly on her shoulder…
TV Review – Dollhouse (S1, E1)
The first season of Dollhouse came out this week on DVD and Bluray, and as some of you may know they (thankfully) included both the unaired pilot and the 13th unaired episode “Epitath One.” To celebrate this I am going to watch the season as it is meant to be seen, and give you my thoughts on the episodes (As you may have noticed I usually only write reviews for the season finale of TV shows. Though I might include a little about the season on the whole, it is usually difficult for me to remember because it is spread out over so many months, so then my reviews tend to suffer. Or I just wouldn’t end up writing one. Hopefully this will work out much better).
