Lauren: Having the tagline “from the producer of Bridesmaids” splashed all over the TV spots and poster is quite the stamp on a project. Well, maybe not the producer part, but definitely the word Bridesmaids. But don’t let the name-drop fool you; The Five-Year Engagement is quite a different beast from that non-stop laugh fest of comedic poo jokes and pre-wedding hijinks. Sure, there are pre-wedding problems here as well, but don’t go in ready to compare the two as this is more about the couple confronting life as their ride to the alter constantly finds more bumps to bottom out on. In all honesty, I am not a big television watcher, mainly because I can never follow a series to its completion (mostly dramas). For years, I’ve bounced around different networks trying to find a show that, not only I can get into, but I can also relate to. Luckily for me (and what turns out to be millions of other people), Dan Harmon created Community: a smart, witty, over-the-top sitcom following a study group who are just trying to get by. Now Playing Review – Scream 4

When the original Scream was released back in 1996 I was at the impressionable age of 8 (or 8 and 3 quarters if we are going based on how I would have said it then); definitely not the correct time to be showing a young girl horror films. Let’s just say that I was scared out of my mind, even considering that I watched it during the day. Yet somewhere within the terror the spark was lit within, starting my love of the genre. So when I heard that a fourth film was being released in the series almost 15 years following the original I was a little nervous about whether or not it would live up to how great I remembered the original trilogy considering the special place in my heart they reside in (ok, and ridiculously excited considering the pitch of the girly scream I emitted).
